Given my myriad of academic and personal responsibilities, On The Wards and similarly leisurely activities have suffered from frequent neglect. I am often reluctant to begin new projects that may steer me away from my core clinical and research focuses.

I have recently pondered the benefits and risks (i.e., time, sleep, and perhaps personal sanity) of joining the microblogging movement … a la Twitter. It may be a worthwhile experiment. Through Twitter, I could continue to dabble in writing about medicine to the general public (as opposed to niche scientific circles), while investing less time to produce each post. I could also use this tool to complement On The Wards and vice versa. Stay tuned for additional updates.
