The BMI (body mass index) is defined as kg / m2, with weight in kilograms (kg) and height in meters (m). The BMI is used as an aid to assess an adult person’s weight classification: underweight (BMI <18.5), normal (18.5-24.9), overweight (25-29.9), obese (30-39.9), and morbidly obese (>40).
